The Liberal and Nationals’ Government has committed $150,000 to fund up to 20 local community infrastructure projects across the electorate of Groom under Round Five of its highly successful Stronger Communities programme.
These much needed community grants help support projects that bring our communities together, strengthen social connections, build community participation and create vibrant and viable communities into the future.
Under the last round our region had a number of successful applicants including the Pittsworth Men’s Shed, the Toowoomba West Lions Club, DownSteam Tourist Railway, the Toowoomba Bowls Club and Brightside on Victoria – all worthy recipients who have put the funding to excellent use in our community.
Projects included new kitchens, building renovations, a new shed, equipment purchases and even the laying of a concrete slab. Each project helped to support the important work of each of these groups in our community.
The program will fund small capital projects in each of the 151 federal electorates, which can range from upgrading the local community hall or sporting facility, building new bike paths, or providing essential equipment for the local State Emergency Service.
Each electorate nationwide has received $150,000 to allocate towards successful projects, with a maximum of 20 projects to be funded per electorate. Grants values range from $2,500 to $20,000.
Expressions of Interest close Friday 6th September.
